Prenesen is an Electrical Engineer, employed at EGP South Africa as Head Engineering and regional Head of the Solar Design Unit. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Electrical Engineering) with 12 years of experience in the Power Systems industry. His career started at Eskom Distribution where he was involved in electrification and reticulation projects.

His proven track record in project development, execution and operations of Solar, Wind, Hybrid projects. He was involved in Impofu North Wind Farm, other projects that achieved 2500 new households electrified; 450MW awarded and 333MW connected to the grid.

He is passionate about human rights, with particular focus on access to electricity for all South Africans. He selected a career in the Power Systems industry to ensure that national targets of power generation and electrification are met.

His knowledge of public and private PPAs, interconnection policies and procedures are a core technical advantage he brings to the SAPVIA team. He is a collaborator and works well in teams. His strengths include strategical planning which is useful in technical and commercial negotiations at various phases of the project lifecycle. He will leverage these expertise and experience to shape strategic policy, and drive growth in SA’s Solar Industry.
